The time has come for the Great English public to decide whether we want to change the way we select our MP’s for the House of Commons.
At present the UK uses the “first past the post” system. Should the “alternative vote” system?
We have to decide whether we want 1 vote for 1 person once or whether we want to vote for someone that gets 50%+ of the vote, If this doesn’t happen the last person is removed and those votes are reallocated until the 1 that is selected has 50%+.
The way I understand the alternative vote system, is that if you vote for a strong candidate and I vote for a plonker + others. As my plonker comes last his 2nd votes are then reallocated which means that I have 2 bites at the cherry.
It is too complicated so for me the best thing is stay as we are.
I voted NO
